    1739/8 French Colonies Canada US Colonial Coin CHOICE RARE
    This coin is from Paris Mint, First Semester issue. It has a ROSE for
    Georges Roettiers and a FOX for Mathieu Renard de  Petition. Legends as follows: .SIT NOM. DOM. A BENEDICTUM (ROSE) "DATE" / .LUD. XV. D. G. FR. (FOX)  (LOLENGE) ET NAV.REX (note no period after ET).
    The above combination only happens with those issues dated 1738 and 1739 from Paris Mint.
    I've compared all the dies with the ones from Stack's John Ford, Jan. 2006 auction. They had multiple pieces of Vlack-16 (1738), as well as Vlack-17, 17b, and 17c (1739). None of them was a die match for our coin. I believe is ours is Vlack-17a, first semester overdate, which is R-8.
