    Description

    Offered here is a nice VF or perhaps a tad better 1766 Pitt Token which passed as a halfpenny in Colonial America. Pitt who endeared himself to America is known for his opposition to the Stamp Act, and worked to have it repealed. The reverse legend "THANKS TO THE FRIENDS OF LIBERTY AND TRADE" ,for his efforts to have the Stamp Act repealed. The obverse has Pitt facing left with legend around, "NO STAMPS" at bottom.
