    Description

How rare is this, it is a picture of part of the 107th engineers, MICHIGAN FROM ISHPEMING in the upper peninsula of Michigan, this is taken after they had been to MEXICO in 1912 fighting Pancho Villa and were used as personal body guard of GENERAL BLACK JACK PERSING, later on when GENERAL PERSING was in charge of the WW1 conflicted ,they continued to be his body guard , and increased and became known as the red arrow division , the arrow was know to the GERMANS ,for breaking through all their defenses. When the unit was being transported to France a u-boat hit their ship U.S.S. TUSCANIA with the loss of 200 lives, but they were saved by another ship coming along side to off load them. NOTE THE TWO OVER SEAS STRIPS ON THEIR SLEEVES, MEXICO ,FRANCE. This is a extremly rare look at MICHIGANS PART IN THE WARS.
