    Description

    This brochure for the Cherokee Indian Reservation in North Carolina opens up to an attractive map. The text at the upper left  describes the hiking trail  with estimated hiking times. The map is dated 1947. The other side of the brochure gives basic information on the Reservation and the Cherokee with small black and white photos. It describes the yearly Indian Fair, and mentions that a planned museum  and pageant (Unto These Hills) will soon be opening to the public. At this point, the Blue Ridge Parkway had not been completed. The brochure is 18 by 12 inches opened up. There's some light soiling and a creased corner.
