Antique Foley China Souvenir Plate Southern Pines Pinehurst NC Black Americana

Here's a rare souvenir plate with the image of two black children carrying puppies in their baskets. The plate was designed and produced by the Foley China Company in England for C.L. Hayes who had a general merchandise establishment located on the main street of Southern Pines, NC. The plate is back stamped with the 1895 Foley China Hallmark. In addition the small black lettering on the back read as follows: “Made in England for C.L. Hayes Southern Pines N.C.” There's a small yellowish mark on the glaze located on the front of the dish (pictured). There's also a hairline crack at the bottom of the plate. Looking at the front of the plate it's barely noticeable. It's location is more noticeable on the back of the plate as pictured. The plate is appropriately 5 3/4" by 6" and it's trimmed in a gold color. This very old plate maintains its vintage character and charm and is in good condition. This is the last souvenir plate I have with these rare images. The gold wood plate stand pictured is not included in the sale.
