    Rare! Cool! Collectible!
"Facsimile of application made by General Robert E. Lee, in 1859, for insurance in the Hartford Fire Insurance Company to cover his home in Arlington, Virginia."
"Facsimile of application made by Abraham Lincoln, in 1861, for insurance in the Hartford Fire Insurance Company to cover his home in Springfield, Illinois."
It looks as though these were printed and given to insurance agents who sold policies for The Hartford Insurance Group.
This Civil War Centennial 1961-1965 was given to
Arthur E. Boynton Real Estate - Insurance 69 Commerce Street, E. Braintree 84, Mass.
These two prints were found in the folder in which they were originally distributed, during the Civil War Centennial. The folder with sword on the front cover, has lithos of both, Abraham Lincoln and Robert E. Lee on the inside cover.
The front reads, "On the occasion of the Civil War Centennial we are proud to offer these two prints of Abraham Lincoln and Robert E. Lee...suitable for framing...reproduced from original wood engravings by the eminent American artist, Bernard Brussel-Smith."
The folder, folder is 10" x8" and the insurance claims are 10" x 7". Please see photos for better descriptions, thank you.
