tonewall Hotel
in Charlotte, NC was one of the most prestigious hotels in its early days for that area. It stood at 535 West Trade Street and operated from 1907 to 1958. Located beside the Southern Rail Road Depot, it was convenient to the traveler, whether on business or leisure. Trolley tracks ran on the street making local transportation convenient. The hotel got its name from the widow of General Stonewall Jackson who resided in a home on that property prior to the building of the hotel.
