Description
Made in Staffordshire, England, this Sadler "Brown Betty" single-serve teapot is a gem. The pot and lid are chocolate brown, and the pot has two blue stripes on either side of a light green stripe. It's well known that the English brown earthenware teapots keep tea nice and warm! The Sadler mark is on the bottom of the pot in a black underglaze, along with "Made in Staffordshire England." The pot is approximately 6” from handle to spout and 4” tall with lid. The pot and lid are in great condition. The lid does have a small nick on the inside bottom and on the top, both too small to capture in photos. The teapot bottom does show a bit of shelf wear as shown in the photos. The closeup photo also shows an area where the brown glaze overlays the green glaze, which is a manufacturing slip. As this is a used pot, the purchase is "as is."
